For those of you that have been waiting for Dashboard HQ, it's time to finally get moving. I'm happy to announce we are in need of a few dedicated beta testers. We'll be starting very small, with just a few people, but in a few days, we'll put up an open invite on the homepage for more beta testers.
If you're interested in being one of the first people to use Dashboard HQ, contact us right now at:
beta - at - 33inc dot com
Please, only contact us if you're willing to spend some quality time setting up your Dashboard HQ page and giving us feedback on it. If we pick you - and this will be somewhat random, so don't be hurt if you don't get a reply - we'll reply with info about how to register.
Thanks!

Obviously, Dashboard HQ is not yet available. We're very sorry to those of you who have been eagerly awaiting its arrival on the Web scene. As much as we would like to have had it up and running three months ago, we both have had extremely little time to do any work on it, hence its much delayed launch.
The fact is, we're both in the middle of writing books right now. We're down to about an hour per week, if we're lucky, to work on Dashboard. This is not an excuse, just a fact. Kris is working on a book about AJAX techniques and I'm working on one about Web application design.
We've both been using Dashboard for a while now, every single day, and doing so has helped us uncover all the bugs that need to be fixed prior to release. Those are the focus right now. All the features have been built. We just need to fix some things before we can release the hounds.
We are continuing to plug away at Dashboard when we can, and hopefully we'll have better news for you soon.
One last note: While Dashboard HQ may appear to be just another start page, like so many others popping up these days, you should know that's not what Dashboard is at all. Dashboard, right now anyway, is a bookmark manager. That's it. It's a way to get all those bookmarks out of the browsers in all the different computers you use and into a simple Web page you can access anywhere. Add, edit, delete bookmarks all you want. We've also thrown in a way to make quick notes to yourself. In the long run, Dashboard will become a suite of online tools all designed to help you manage your life and be more productive. For now, it's a bookmark manager.
More to come ...
