PeopleSoft not so soft

My wife just sent me the following email to relay a conversation she had with some co-workers:
< Person A > was trying to check out the job postings on PeopleSoft, and after problems logging on, searching fruitlessly for the correct links, and eventually getting a timed out message, she complained, "It's not just that it isn't user-friendly, PeopleSoft is actually user-hostile".
< Person B > agreed, "Yeah, they should call it PeopleHard".
Point well made. Does anyone still wonder if interaction design is really important?
